Ultra Frame

Our Ultra-Frame option is a future proofed ultra low energy building system which offers unrivalled performance. It’s a twin  wall system developed  to provide a ultra low energy building fabric,  It achieves a u-value of 0.10Wm²/K and when combined with our  frame specific roof system detailed below with u-values as low as  0.10Wm²/K the combined envelope is truly exceptional

The Ultra-Frame features a 350mm twin wall system with a membrane on the inside forming the airtight layer. The build-up features a 140mm  stud, a 110mm thermal break, and a second 90mm  stud  with the wall  designed to be thermal bridge free. The combination of thermal break, dense pack natural cellulose insulation and an diffusion open external sheathing board  means the timber frame wall is breathable. This ensures quality and occupant comfort,  most importantly because the frame materials are diffusion open they eliminate any risk of interstitial condensation and mould growth in the building fabric.  The Ultra-Frame provides you with a ultra low energy cost effective home for your family while  reducing the carbon footprint.

Four key factors are required to achieve a  ultra low energy building fabric

U-values                                                     0.10Wm²/K or better

Airtightness                                                0.6 ac/h or less

Thermal bridging                                        Thermal bridge free

Internal surface temperatures                    13 degrees of higher

Key Benefits of the Ultra frame system for your Timber Frame Home
