‘When we decided we were going to build a house to passive standards it had to be timber frame, for obvious reasons. After doing a lot of research over a 5 year period (it was a hobby rather than an obsession) I knew what I wanted to do and the best way to do it. So I started getting quotes for the timber frame. I spoke to 4 different companies, three of them had their way of doing things and weren’t flexible – so I said ‘ok you better quote me for your way then if I have no choice in the matter.’But Adrian at Irish Eco homes wanted to do it MY way and had a genuine interest in the project. He listened to me and did question my reasons for what I wanted – he understood exactly what I was looking for and then when he showed me his twin stud Eco-frame I was in heaven, filled with cellulose (manufactured in Ireland from recycled newspaper, www.ecocel.ie), Oh my god! It was the exact way to go from a financial, environmental, and comfort point of view.Adrian had the cheapest quote to add to it. I had also heard good things from trades men/women who had worked on finishing Adrian’s houses, they commented on the quality of the timber used, how straight everything was and how happy the client was. The decision to work with Irish Eco Houses was a no brainer so they got the contract!!I also gave them the contract for the air-tightness as I felt to do this properly it would have to be done by the company putting up the frame. The frame erection commenced when they said it would, they had a great team who knew exactly what they where doing. The air-tightness test by far exceeded passive house standards. If you are looking for a timber frame contractor I think Irish Eco Homes is definitely the right choice.’

‘We wanted to build a house to Passive standards and chose the IEH Ultra Frame option. We got what we expected. The test came in January when we were preparing the house for floor tiles. We heated it to 24 degrees and switched off the heating. Five days later it was still at 20 degrees. Airtightness measures under 0.6 Ac/hr. Irish Eco Homes are an excellent company to deal with we found them always ready to go the extra mile to achieve a top class result.’

I learned about Irish Eco Homes through their website.
From my first contact with them, I was impressed by their professionality and their willingness to listen to what ideas my wife and I had about building our house. We looked at a house they were building in the area and really liked their system and the quality of the work.
During the design stage, we really felt that we were being helped to design the house that we wanted.
All the way until the frame was in place, we were very happy with Irish Eco Homes. And even after they had done their work, we were still able to contact them and get advice on various issues around the building.
We have no hesitation in recommending Irish Eco Homes.

We were very happy with the service we received from everyone in Irish Eco Homes from start to finish. The lads are very professional, helpful and reliable. By choosing to go with the SuperFrame we now have a very comfy, warm and cosy house. During the construction phase of our house numerous trades people commented on the superb quality of the frame. As a result, we would gladly recommend Irish Eco Homes to anyone building a new home.
